Hello,

first I have to apologize for my bad english or some mistakes, that I'll make. I'm new to this forum so I also apologize if this or similar topic is already opened.

I had a brain injury in a car crash few years ago, that left some of my brain functions damaged, as a poor memory, concentration, aphasia, social isolation and many more... Before that I was very smart, had a good marks in school, clear thinking, good imagination, vivid dreams and now it's all gone:( I'm curently a student on a Faculty of computer and information science, but due to my brain injury I'm unable to study, hard to concentrate on my study material and forget almoust everything that I read. After my accident, I spent a lot of time googling sites about brain injury and treatment and curently there is no effective drug treatment for that, as I know. I also tried many of nootropics, but none of them were effective. Curently I use Ginseng, Piracetam and Aniracetam. The latter showed some benefits, but not what I want. I want to become old me again...

When googling, I found sites about Ampakines, that show promises in treating many neurological diseases, especially interesting for me are CX516 (Ampalex) and CX717. Now folows a question for everybody, that have some more informations about Ampakines than me. When could we expect some of these two Ampakines (CX516 || CX717) on sale on the market??? I heard also about some chinese pharmacy factory, that could make Ampalex, but for a very high price - 4000$/kg... So, this option is not relevant.

Thank you all for your answers and help....wink.gif

Best regards, Davor

How much Aniracetam were you taking and for how long? I believe it is a good source of long lasting ampakine.

I would stop focusing on drugs not even properly studied yet in humans and not even available at a reasonable cost. There are several effective drugs/nootropics for your condition however it requires someone with experience to prescribe you a proper stack so to speak.

First of all, the "long lasting ampakine" is written on the bottle of my Aniracetam, but I don't understand, what does that mean. Or that it takes long for effects to shown or that last long. Flex, please explain that. Now I'm using Aniracetam for some week and there are some changes, but nothing dramatical. This nootropics, that are curently available on the market (by my opinion) doesn't show much improvement in cognition as ampakines will do. So, this is my last hope, but I don't want to wait for a long time, that they become available to us, cause I'm in those years, that I should enjoy life, but I can't due to my brain injury:(

Working on the ampa receptor is only one effect on many far more important effects true nootropics have. While Aniracetam can help some like any compound a month is enough time to properly review it's full effects at a proper dose. Considering the amount of damage you have to accept you may ever get back to the way you were before.
lucid_dream
drugs such as piracetam, aniracetam, oxiracetam and pramiracetam have multiple modes of action and produce relatively weak AMPA receptor activation, and it is unclear how significant their ampakine actions are in producing their nootropic effects.

CX-717, a potent ampakine, is currently in Phase II clinical trials. I'm not sure where you can obtain this though.

LifeMirage or anybody else, that is familiar with nootropics and their effects - which of them or combination is effective in treating brain damage to restore brain functions due to brain injury? I tried some of them, but they were not much effective. I will list my problems:

- poor memory (short & long-term) & concentration -> learning problems
- aphasia (unable to express my thoughts with words, being quiet in society)
- vertigo (casually)
- space & time disorientation
- social isolation (unable to make contacts - social phobia)
- occasionally depressions (I take antideressants)
- ...

These are problems that I daily cope with and make my life miserable. So please, anybody, help me! Is there any nootropic that fixes (reverse) brain damage or restore brain functions?

Thank you much very;)
