QUOTE
We sometimes need to control things in order to realize our underlying will. This 'control' is not the idea we have of control, but rather denotes a relation in what is.

In perfect innocense or without the opposing thought that would create need to find the underlying will because it is buried under the opposing thoughts, life is perfectly simple. Life is lived consciously and will is easily accomplished without distraction and the need to control.
In the Waking state which is lived by trying to bring control into accomplishing desire. The mind is constantly thinking. It is engaged in repetative thought streams which carry memories of the past, and with what it holds as truth in beliefs created by past experiences it projects ideals while carrying opposing thoughts of what it does not want to create or happen.

In enlightenment the past does not exist. What happened then happened then and has no bearing on what will happen or is happening in this moment or the future which never comes. There is only this moment. Even as the idea of the future moment arrives it is still this moment. Time is a relative function of the ego in putting ideas into sequence. If you believe the sequence is random or relative to some outside force then you have not connected to your reality thru union of yourself or your consciousness and the manifest.

In the consciousness of the everpresent now there is no distraction, no opposing will or thought outside of ones Self. No need to control desire because desire is present. Intent to create something different is not a thing to struggle with nor control it simply is. But you have to allow for the moment which is created as long as you limit yourself to time because to try to create something different while being present in the manifestation of current desire there would be conflict.
The opposing thought is usually created by repetative thoughts or beliefs and the idea that control needs to be present is from the idea that you do not have the ability to create at will but only with effort. This idea is usually present because you have not let go of the thought streams of the past which have an effect on the manifest present. i.e. this is the way it is, lifes a b*tch and then you die, work hard and then you will get what you want, this is as good as it gets, it sucks to be me, nothing comes without effort, etc. etc. And even more bizarre is the idea that I didn't create this moment and I would like it to change and be something different.

Ever look at the mechanics of an affirmation? You tell yourself what you want to think but the subtle thought of what you don't want to think is always present. This is the nature of duality. You thinnk black but without white, black cannot exist.
Conscious awareness of the subtle aspects of reality have to be mastered by rising above the rules that are created by repetative reinforcement of the rules.

Become conscious first then creativity comes easily and naturally without control or the need to find the desire that is hidden below the opposing thought streams and beliefs.
Control is an idea and it causes stress in its application and its belief because it always like the affirmation carries the weight of its dual counterpart.
Fear is extremely subtle but it is the countering or opposing force that is constantly attacking the unconscious desires which coupled with the need to control, lives within our minds as the aspect of potential failure and lack of control that deepens our ignorance of our Conscious Self.

Focus on the other hand, coupled with the discipline of remaining in focus on what is real will reveal the Consciousness that is above need and beyond limitations.
Juggling awareness of Consciousness and desire splits the mind and always leaves the mind ineffective. Focus on the one and with that comes everything else.
Just as a 40 watt light bulb casts light over a short distance when focused through a lense like a laser, it will shine a spot on the moon.

So are we talking about Conscious desire or waking state desire and which is real?
Are we talking about focus to realize the self and then create or creating from the idea of consciousness but still living in ignorance of the actuality of being that?

Control is a waking state reality, it doesn't exist in Conscious reality, need is always coupled with control and used as an impetus to become free of limitations as the desire to become conscious surfaces through the muck of repetative thoughts. Not many listen to the subtle desire for Union with consciousness just the surface desire to change what we don't like.
