Very Interesting News: Words Plateau in the Brain 'glaciers' (turns on, crystallizes) instantaneously by jump!!!
Sorry for utilization of non-scientific terminology. Another support paper for some old ideas of mine. Very nice.

Languages Evolve in Punctuational Bursts
Quentin D. Atkinson,1* Andrew Meade,1 Chris Venditti,1 Simon J. Greenhill,2 Mark Pagel1,3

Linguists speculate that human languages often evolve in rapid or punctuational bursts, sometimes associated with their emergence from other languages, but this phenomenon has never been demonstrated. We used vocabulary data from three of the world's major language groups—Bantu, Indo-European, and Austronesian—to show that 10 to 33% of the overall vocabulary differences among these languages arose from rapid bursts of change associated with language-splitting events. Our findings identify a general tendency for increased rates of linguistic evolution in fledgling languages, perhaps arising from a linguistic founder effect or a desire to establish a distinct social identity.

so basically, the differences in language arise from different social groups wanting to be just that...different? would this fit into some sort of survival model i.e. only the group that speaks 'x' language flourishes so therefore the group speaking 'y' language is unable to benefit from 'x' groups successes by lack of communication? i dont know quite how to express what im trying to ask...am i making any sense?

I think we can make an attempt to create new language on the Platform of English. We can test how the jump works. I will think about words table which can trigger the jump.

Interesting, is it possible to try to create new jump on the platform of English language?
E.g. like the one done by Benjamin Jonson (c. 11 June 1572 – 6 August 1637) . laugh.gif
