Hi there, first post smile.gif

I've been thinking of taking modafinil (provigil) for a while now. For one, I have a ridiculous time staying awake.
In class, whenever the light gets turned off for a projection, or the teacher starts reading something, I start to drowse. I literally can't keep my eyes open, and alot of my classes are taught through speech rather than practise. Classical civilisation is the worst, because the teacher will read through the material, and add his own adlib every so often, and there is very little teacher-pupil communication. I tend to have this class in the morning also, so even when I'm doing questions I'm literally falling alseep with the pen in my hand and half a word written.

I don't think its narcolepsy, I have a very bad diet and this could probably be improved, but right now I don't have the time to worry about that.

I've read alot about the effects, and hear it also increases concentration, this is something else I'd like an aid with.
However, I live in the UK and I've had trouble finding somewhere that will ship here. (I've checked that list compiled in another thread, those that do sell modafinil won't ship that drug specifically)
A place called 'Good health Pharmacy' appears to ship to the UK, but I was wondering if anyone had had experience with them. Their prices seem a bit too competitive compared ($93 for 30x100mg)

Aside from this, I was also wondering if I've overlooked any other drug that might be more suited to me. This isnt a long term plan, its for the next 2 months, then a month in between before the two months after that. (exams, basically)

What I need:
- aid staying awake
- increased concentration
- short/long term memory

But I really just need something that will help me with revision and studying, with the added benefit of keeping me awake DURING school

I was also wondering about the real difference between Alertec, Provigil etc etc?

Sorry for any trouble biggrin.gif

Don't take this as insulting at all captain. I really do think you should consider your diet issue first. If you don't have time to fix it, do you really have time to monitor all of the overall effects modanifil might be having? That said, you might also consider ephedra types of products. I beleive ephedra pills are banned in the U.K. but it's easy to purchase the raw plant material and brew it as a tea. This combined with good ol' caffeine may do the trick.

Another overlooked avenue is peppermint oil. I actually don't like the smell all that much, but it does help one stay awake and focus. Even Vicks works ok.

Sorry I can't help with the modanifil questions, but you might try a few of these tricks till your pills come in.

I'll pm you a much better priced source for modafinil. There generally is little difference.

Well, diet wise Im one of those people who need to eat very little to gain alot of weight, and while I'm happy at the weight I am now (which is healthy for my height) I do have to undereat to maintain it. Im probably not 'naturally overweight'; it's the quality of the food I'm around at the moment that means if I have 3 meals a day I'm overeating calorie wise, but once school is over I'll be paying great attention to exercise and diet.

I'll look into those options if modafinil falls out, thanks biggrin.gif
