I'm an undergraduate student from the UK, doing some research on memory.
If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful. Firstly, I'm looking at whether some popular beliefs about memory are true. Vey broad I know...
Secondly, I'm looking for some interesting new findings related to how humans can improve their memories. (however I'm not looking at nootropics or other cognitive enhancers in this section...)

I know its very broad, but as an introduction it needs to be. If anypone has any interesting facts about memory, I'd be very grateful for some feedback. Thanks

Try running some tests yourself.

One quick test you can do, is to create a list of 20 or so random words, recite them to the individual, and once you are done, have them recall as many as they can on a piece of paper. To the first group, don't suggest any techniques for increased memory; to the second group, suggest that they create an interactive mental image. Once you have gathered the data, you can do some number punching, and I am sure you will be able to conclude that the second group had better recall.

The people I am working with have done some basic memory tests, however I am looking for some of the latest findings in memory research, things that aren't neccesarily in the public knowledge...
