I generally really like lion ears, they look like two fluffy suns

The eyes are excellent, expressive like a ... well, a lion.

thanks very much, I like lion eyes too and their round pupils.
I wouldn't say I'm a professional and accomplished artist (still need alot of practice, experiments, and studies for that) but I would like to head in that direction.

Their ears DO rather resemble "fluffy suns," now that you mention it; what a refreshing (and poetic) way to put it!
This is a very expressive portrait of what would appear to be a wise and experienced lion. I think you have created and described character in this image very effectively. One almost wishes such a lion would give us some good advice, since he seems to know what's up. He looks like he knows but isn't telling, not humans anyway, not today.
I'm wrestling with a poem just now, and will share it with you when it is done; I hope it turns out as well as this lion.
I should also tell you how much I love your signature image of you and the tiger; but really both images are of you, both human and tiger incarnations: it is as though two discrete yet complementary natures are expressed in this way, reaching for one another in wholeness.
You're doing great, and I am proud of you.
Love,
+Stevie

one critic that i would offer, on a technical level, would be to incorporate more dark tonal ranges throughout the composition, similar to how you've rendered the mouth, nostril, and eye.

hehe, you sound like my art teacher Trip. I learned to draw from my cousin and stayed firmly in the HB range of pencils. I was constantly told to increase the range of my tonal shading, but often I just increased the pressure on my paper. This then just made me dent my paper

As for the lion, its pretty cool. I prefer the lady and the tiger, but I think thats something to do with the content

I'll have to get some of my work up on here.
