Thanks, Highguy, for your compliment. Except for the cultural connotation, the poem should be understandable.
In most Hindu homes one will find a calendar, or picture of a god or goddess (printed on it or on a paper)which is worshipped as in a church or temple.
I have tried to image it in my tanka.
