Hi, I'm new to nootropics & I recently have neck stiffness. Could it be from having little or too much choline? I started Piracetam 2.5 weeks ago & I'm taking the following each day:
2 x 1.2g tab Piracetam (Nootropil)
4 x 1200mg Lecithin tab (phosphatidyl choline 180mg, phosphatidyl inositol 102 mg, phosphatidyl ethanolamine 144 mg)
1 tab Centrum
1 tab Caltrate Plus 600
1 tab B5 complex
1 cap d-alpha tocopherol Vit E 400 IU
It's a pretty simple compared to what I've read here but it's what's currently available for me.
I was taking 2 tabs of lecithin (2 x 1200mg) regularly for about 2 years before piracetam became available to me. I had a headache that first day of taking piracetam so I upped the lecithin to 3 then to 4 tabs/day & the stiffness is there 2 days now.
What do you think of my choline intake & my reaction to this combo? I have read here that my choline source is weak so I plan to take Alpha GPC soon. I'm 30/F, 5'1" & 110 lbs in case its a factor for the doses.
I'm still assessing my reaction with basic piracetam before going to the other nootropics. Thanks for any input you might have.

IMO, you are taking way too much choline. That is the likely source of the stiff neck and headache. I would try 1 tab of that lecithin instead of 4. Even half a tab may be enough. I take about 200mg of DMAE which is another source of choline and that seems plenty. There are better forms of choline than lecithin but not because they are stronger. It gets into a complicated discussion. Perhaps LM will come along with more info for you.

I'm cutting down on lecithin at the moment but I'll be stuck in finding a suitable lecithin dose that will work. I'm looking into more effective choline sources but it'll be unavailable for some time. Yup, I'd love to hear LifeMirage's take on piracetam-lecithin combo. Thanks!

personally I don't think neck stiffness is a consequence of your modest nootropic regimen. I don't think you're taking too much choline as taking orders of magnitude higher amounts will unlikely cause side-effects. I think your stiff neck is more likely due to poor posture and poor physical activity habits.

LD, choline is well known to cause symptoms like that. Yes, it could be due to something else but we don't know.
"taking orders of magnitude higher amounts will unlikely cause side-effects."
Now you have got to be kidding me. Even one order of magnitude more would be 40 tabs a day or 48 grams and that could be very nasty. Two orders of magnitude, well, we don't even want to think about that.
