TheLonelyOne
Thousands of tightly woven hemp held together to create a long tight rope with the strands poking out. Rubbing against a snapped neck, pale, and dead. The skin that once had blood flowing creating its pink healthy texture was slowly dying away from this corpse that swayed in the wind.
As the wind blew the mask off his face the people screamed hiding their children’s eyes, not believing that the black veil was no longer over this pale face with the dark eyes that could pierce through a heart although they were only half open and wet from the tears he shed right before his neck was broken.
His long brown hair blew in the wind looking healthy as if part of him was still alive. Although this was true the people didn't care. They wanted it dead, this monster they never trusted this nothing that was never loved and never will be for his future was robbed from him.
As the people went back to their homes he stayed swinging in the wind. He was a warning and until he could smell worse then this heartless dying town they would not cut his rope. His little girl sat in the sand in front of her dead swinging father. Watching his once soft hair that she could twirl in her small fingers while she sat by a fire on his lap happy listening to his voice, turn course and die. She cared about this monster of a man that had to die, while no one else loved him she had him and he had her.
When the town was dark and quiet she climbed to the top of the alter and looked at her father. She grabbed his cold pale hand and held on. She wished she was with him just talking at that moment just another second so she could tell him she cared. She wanted nothing more then to cry. Wanted to wake him up and realize it was all just a dream.
She walked over to his rope and cut it with a small blade given to her by her father. He dropped onto the wood for there was no hole for him to fall into the sand. She slowly walked to his body and flipped him on his back. She made his lifeless eyes look into the sky thinking maybe it would help him reach the place she wanted to go away to as well.
The fly’s came and no matter how hard she tried she couldn't manage to keep them away from her father. She made a spot on his chest nonetheless, ignoring the flies. Listening for a single heartbeat just so she could stop pretending he might still be there with her. She stayed with him until the sun came up watching the stars leave the sky, seeing the moon fade away, and running until the sun could touch her fair pale cheeks.
She ran into the shadows where the sun could never reach her. Her own dead spot of land. Where she raised her knees to her chin and finally let go of her tears. She cried until she fell asleep. Her soft blond hair covering her face and tears dripping down her small pale legs.
