While I have a strong interest and passion for the dietary supplement industry as they have produced some of the finest companies offering high quality products and help promote fair business practices, it has come to my attention one of those companies is blatantly open about their deceptive business methods. I am of course referring to the business named in this topic and the main person who runs it.

Relentless Improvement has bought several domains of .info, .com, .org of his competitor's and have forward it to his website. One example of such occurrence is with a company named Unique Nutrition.

Why may you ask is this deceptive? Intent. When people enter a web address looking for a company sometimes they enter .com or .net at the end but they are obviously looking for the company based on the name. Unique Nutrition's website is and has always been based on
www.uniquenutrition.net, while Pete has recently bought at an estimated price of well above $1,000 www.uniquenutrition.com (as well as .org). Why? Solely for the purpose of hoping to attractive Unique Nutrition's customers based on deception. As most people would agree this is wrong and not how a respectable business operates.

Decide based on his own words.

QUOTE
If I can put a "sign" in front of my competitors "store" pointing to my "store" that is plain smart business. That is exactly what I did. Anyone with questions or concerns, feel free to email me.

In real life this would be a very bad idea for obvious reasons.

QUOTE
Anybody have supplement related domain names they want to sell? Shoot me an email!

Accepting the lowest bidder it would seem.

QUOTE
If I were shady, I would hide behind a domain name registration anonymizing proxy, I would create multiple posting personalities (sockpuppets) to bash my competition, and pretend to be someone I am not. I would create interwoven message boards all working behind the scenes to hype my products while seeming to appear independent.

Pete would seem to know exactly what to do to boost his sales. He probably learned this from Adam D Kamil his main salesman these days.

QUOTE
1. I have a portfolio of TLD's (top level domains) (200+) that I am always adding to.

I would suggest changing your business to domain reselling.

This topic is meant to address any company that utilizes deceptive marketing tactics and provide a warning to consumers to consider who you are dealing with.

Update 05-05-07

Under a threat of lawsuit Pete Hitesman is forced to not only stop forwarding other companies websites domains and but he is now try to sell them. It's sad that it took legal action for Pete realizing that he was doing something wrong and I would expect him to offer a formal apology for the damages he caused others and himself by choosing deceptive methods in the hopes of profiting off the success of hardworking and honest businesses.

Note: Pete Hitesman's username is Savyboy (http://www.uniquenutrition.com/, http://www.afternic.com/names.php?best=1&u...ame_id=15548718)

Update: 05-13-07

Compelling proof that on March 28, 2007, at 04:24 PM by IP address 75.25.183.99 Pete Hitesman hacked the www.betterbrain.org website putting links to Unique Nutrition. The link of course took you directly to Pete Hitesman's www.uniquenutrition.com's website and not Unique Nutrition's real website www.uniquenutrition.net. This highly deplorable and underhanded action worsen his ethics as a business owner.

Update: 05-27-07

Pete Hitesman not having any medical degree attempts discredit my public record with zero supporting facts as usual. Anyone can confirm my Medical degree by contacting my college:

Doctor of Medicine: Albany Medical College, New York 1987-1989

Unlike Pete Hitesman I do not own a small nutritional company attempting to pass off as a high quality supplier using an FDA flagged testing company. I strongly suggest using IBC to test his products before risking your health to this small start up company before the FDA shuts them down.

"Compare to Serenity: We are priced lower and do not require you to sign up for a risky auto-ship plan."

Noticed Pete Hitesman took the time to libel another company. I contacted the company today and expect a lawsuit to be filed shortly.

Update 09-06

From Pete's mouth on his website

QUOTE
In the latest NPA newsletter (RI has always been a member) they have admirably decided to embrace product testing (at several points) in order to help weed out the bad manufacturers and scam suppliers.

NPA is a private org and has nothing to do with FDA required quality standards.

QUOTE
Relentless Improvement was founded and grows on the philosophy that documented products are a good thing. RI brand products have always had public Certificates of Analysis (from well-respected FDA certified analytical laboratories) available for public view on our website.

RI sells many products before ever posting a COA on his site weeks later. His COA's are poorly done with company known by the FDA for faking tests results.

QUOTE
We are unique in that our CoA's are based on finished product and tied to the specific lot number of the product that is currently shipping to you. This is the ultimate in product quality accountability, and I don't know of another company in the world that does this.

Nearly every company does this. Nothing is unique about basic testing.

QUOTE
I use what I sell, and frankly, I now hate to ingest anything that I have not had tested!

So he does not take AOR, Geronova, or LEF products since he sells them but does not test them.

QUOTE
We have had all manner of headaches created by our testing regimen. It is difficult, time-consuming and very expensive. But if you lead a supplement lifestyle, and hope to reap the benefits, you must use only documented products.

So much BS.

QUOTE
There are unfortunately suppliers whose only concern is leading the race to the bottom with unsubstantiated claims, unknown purity and unsecured websites. That is a race we have never desired to enter.

Pete your company is small and your claims regarding companies who have been around far longer and have far smarter people working for them puts you to shame.

QUOTE
Thanks to your ongoing trust and support, Relentless Improvement will continue to lead from a position of full disclosure, transparency and innovation. What other way is there?

Where do you buy your materials and who produces them for you?
