There are no Solids in the Universe
“The constituents of atoms are dynamic patterns of energy, which do not exist as isolated entities, but as integral parts of an inseparable network of interactions.” Fritjof Capra

I read his "Tao of Physics" many years ago. His physics seemed solid.
A few days ago I skinned my shin on a very solid appearing piece of aluminum. It hurt a lot.

Hmm, well there are liquid saws. They are simply pressurized and the force cuts metal very precisely. I have a question though, if there are no solids and since we know water is already in its most dense form possible, then what happens when water turns to ice cube? How does the no solid theory work for this one?

There's also a recent development of liquid armor which apparently turns relatively solid when subjected to a stress. If you've ever goofed around with water and corn starch mixtures you've seen the principle. The liquid armor is used with kevlar to make lighter and more flexible armor than just kevlar alone. The key though is the word "relatively." You can say there are no solids but then in the same vein you could say that nothing really exists. Heck, maybe that is the case. One scientist who is considered to have been one of the most prolific inventors of all time stated that all is metaphysical.

Yes, I am familiar with the liquid armor, I believe its being developed by MIT? The word 'nothing' is a very tricky one, because - what is nothing? How could you know what nothing is - because if its nothing then you cant percieve it. Most people think of a black void when they think of nothing, but this is still something. If you define nothing, then it becomes something - so its difficult to philosophically come to terms with some of the theories scientists present.

That philosophy stuff sure can be a
biaatch.

Suppose I cut some cake at a party and put some pieces on plates and on some other plates I put nothing. You would feel very differently if I handed you a plate with nothing on it than if I handed you a plate with cake. Keep it simple. Don't overthink everything. Enjoy life. Be happy. Worry when appropriate. Impeach Bush.
