Peace Family,
I was curious as to if someone could provide me with information on or link me to simple, yet effective techniques in which i can transfer my consciousness (spirit) from my mind/skull (perceived default orientation) into other parts / physical anatomical areas of my body... i.e. throat, hand, shoulder, heart. I am interested in becoming proficient in having the actual irrefutable experience of moving the consciousness around within the body to more fully experience my own third dimensional vessel.
This may be basic or primative, or in the wrong forum altogether, but i would appreciate help if any one of you, my beloved family, can offer it.
Love and Light!

Hu?? Im unsure of what you are asking, are we talking religiously or are you scientifically trying to move consciousness through out the body? The consciousness is said to be based as a result from the brain, though there are many theories to consciousness.
Some say individual cells have potential for consciousness and their unfication causes a conscious body, others say the potential for consciousness lies in individual nerve cells. While the most common theory is that the combination of neurons working together causes a conscious mind.
I dont really get it, you dont nessecarily perceive your mind to be in your brain. The Egyptians believed consciousness was in the heart. Where you percieve your mind to be is your own decision, the majority of your senses are on your face which causes you to view reality from your head. But where you percieve your mind to be is entirely up to you. So I dont get why you dont just think of your mind being in your heart and vowala, perception changed.
I suppose you could hypnotise yourself or go through some fancy ritual to try and change your perception but its really a matter of deciding what you want to believe.

try sensory deprivation

Hey, thats a neat idea, although it will probably cause you to hallucinate more than anything. A word of warning though, sensory deprevation is not a walk in the park, it is very mentally demanding. It could also leave you in a weakened and vunerable state for a while after experiencing it, though this is hard to say, it depends on a number of factors.

Your mind is in your fingertips. That's why they hurt when you stick pins in them. It's all to do with mind-brain and where the brain ends.

Consciousness doesn't have location. When you are with others, the only way to know which body is yours is by the application of geometry, i.e. computation based on sensory data.

For the sake of sanity I believe in matter and that means my consciousness is in me. But it doesn't have to end at the skull.

To talk of geometry in relation to the body makes sense, but not in relation to consciousness.

Hey Hey, I like your quote. It reminds me of a discussion I had with other holiday-makers a few years back. I asked where the phrase "I'm buggered if I know" came from.
After half an hour of hilarious suggestions (some of which were downright rude) one of the party said "Bill, I'm buggered if I know", which seemed about as appropriate as you can get!
Regarding pain in ones fingers (and hence mind), I have concluded that the mind is in the brain. Explain phantom limb pain any other way.
BTW

Mobile Body Awareness, it has also been referred to.

But a phantom limb doesn't hurt when you hit it! Or rather, if it does, you have more problems than just the amputation!

Tho mobile body awareness is the movement of awareness, the idea of pursuing this without clear perception would be putting the cart before the horse.

I was just thinking about that recently, and I found it entertaining to center my consciousness in my tongue.
Your tongue moves without thinking, but you can be completely aware of all it's movements!
Though likely nothing more than entertainment, it is quite fun to think as if your tongue is the controlling body of your brain, and the body is it's giant minion

Sort of like a super-slug!
This probably came about because I read animorphs as a kid. (The main protagonists are mind-controlling slugs that enter peoples brains through their ears)
