On the threshold of the introitus
He hesitated suddenly
Having second thoughts about coitus
A rite of passage he could see
Into a world of complication
Something in him wanted to flee
Causing his lover consternation

But nature told him "those who love are free"
As his lover smiled encouragingly
And this was nature doing what she does
Because she knows how these things tend to be
And that it had to be the way it was
From Adam even as it was for me
Experience answers expectation

Where all the answered questions disappear
Nature answered without explanation
The best time is now and the best place here
Having transcended anticipation
We see the folly of anxiety
Answered by nature not quite as we plan
Where yin and yang join a woman and man
