I want to change my life from the meds i take to nootropics. I am on various anti ds for depression and panics and i am fed up of them not doing anything so i want to try something new. I have read up on 5-ht and i am interested in it being used to treat depression. I am also going back into learning and want to sharpen my brain up and my perceptions any one got any advice or ideas on what i could take.

I am on limited budget but want to try some nootropics.

Hey Hey
Antidepressants and nootropics are NOT one and the same. I recommend that you DO NOT stop taking your antidepressants. However, it is worth investigating the advantages of nootropics, but note, there are some that will possibly interact with your antidepressants and it is therefore VITAL that you discuss any changes in your regime with your doctor PRIOR to making those changes.

Power to the nootropics (advisedly)!

Many prescription meds have terrible side effects over the long term. Do some reading on salvia divinorum. With the proper dose it is amazingly effective.

What would you say the proper dose is? I have been chewing like 6 leaves a day for about 15 min. It has been alright, but it is just a little lift and slight visual enhancement--about the same as caffiene really.

This is BAD advice for someone with clinical depression!

Actually Salvia tends to have an anti-depressent effect IME. I have used it before while very depressed and the results were....nice. I don't recommend its usage, however.
