Anyone read the rich dad poor dad series? In his latest book "Why we want you to be rich" which is co-authored by Donald Trump and they talk about how all money is now Fiat or Fake. They mostly go into the economics of it but also discuss the role the government played in it. He also discusses this in his second and third books.
I believe we are no longer consperacy theorists Lindsay, looks like someone has stepped up to the plate and admitted the truth. I can safely say if Donald Trump is willing to go on the record and claim money is Fiat, then that nicely moves us out of the consperacy theory area, which is most fortunate.

That is, I have conspired, or "breathed together", with others, to help make the world a better place for all of us.

As a result of this, I have come to the hope that, eventually, all of us will catch on to the fact that, properly understood, money should be nothing more than a tally--an accounting system.
IMHO, interest, without any risk on the part of the lended, on money is, simply, theft. However, dividend on money--loaning money at risk--is. IMO, democratic capitalism at its democratic best.
What your post tells me is this: It is possible for any group of human beings (that is, a family, a tribe, a community--near or far) who are willing enough to be smart enough to get together and to trust one another--and willing to challenge those not worthy of our trust--to create a CCC (a complementary and community currency) capable of keeping of track of what the community should be willing to do for one another, anyway even without money.
BTW 1, today, I turned 77--that is, I was born Jan.14, 1930. Guess what? Old age may not make one more knowledgeable and wise, but, if one is willing to learn, it sure helps to live longer and be wiser.
