Old Testament rhetoric vs. New Testament rhetorics.... any thoughts?

This isn't really related, but I have a challenge for anyone who is up to it~

Go out and buy a copy of the Bible on CD and try to sit through Mathew If you can get through all of the begots without fast forewarding, you have a lot of patience

I wonder aloud if one could equate modernism with old testament rhetoric and post-modernism with new testament rhetoric?

Old Testament ---> alot of rules, strictly enforced, rigid and inflexible.

Reminds me of the Traffic Warden's Manual!

Old testament is the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
Without the law, man doesn't know he is a sinner. Once knowing he has broken the law of God, he then turns to Christ (in the new testament) repenting and accepting God's grace.
Under the law we had to offer sacrifices, and had to follow rituals and laws. When Christ came, He fufilled the law, and put us under Grace.
