BEVERLY HILLS, California (AP) -- George Lucas said Friday that filming of the long-awaited "Indiana Jones" movie will begin in 2007.

Harrison Ford, who appeared in the three earlier flicks, the last one coming in 1989, is set to star again.

Lucas said he and Steven Spielberg recently finalized the script for the film.

"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," the 62-year-old filmmaker said during a break from preparing for his duties as grand marshal of Monday's Rose Parade.

Exact film locations have not been decided yet, but Lucas said part of the movie will be shot in Los Angeles.

The fourth chapter of the "Indiana Jones" saga, which will hit theaters in May 2008, has been in development for over a decade with several screenwriters taking a crack at the script, but it only recently gained momentum.

Lucas kept mum about the plot, but said that the latest action flick will be a "character piece" that will include "very interesting mysteries." smile.gif

"I think it's going to be really cool," Lucas said.

At the inaugural Rome Film Festival in October, the 64-year-old Ford said he was excited to team up with Lucas and Spielberg again for the fourth "Indiana Jones" installment. Ford said he was "fit to continue" to play the title role despite his age. (Gallery: Harrison Ford's career)

Ford played Indiana Jones in 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark," 1984's "Temple of Doom" and 1989's "The Last Crusade."

Lucas praised Ford for breathing life into his character.

"Mostly it's the charm of Harrison that makes it work," he said.

Why on earth is this posted under the Enlightenment section?

As Mr. George Lucas contributed so much to mankind’s Enlightenment by his Star Wars, I thought that the 4-th 'Indiana Jones' will add something to the Subliminal Enlightenment process as well on this Earth. That is why it is posted here.

Are you satisfied with my explanation Culture?

no.... I don't know about Culture, but I'm not. Can you try again please, lol.

Possibly I mixed word Enlightenment with word Entertainment.

It is just an intentional mistake of my ‘Legions’ I permitted them to make.

Today I had very unpleasant conversation and started to feel that during the last 6 years I permitted too many of such mistakes to be made, aimed to protect lives and happiness of so many absolutely unthankful people instead of furthering my own wordy interests.

Possibly people should face emptiness to start to respect the Neutral Side of the Force which Mr. Lucas missed to describe by mistake, just like others missed Tom from the Lord of the Rings.

hmmm.... yes, I see, the balancing effect of neutrally charged particles.

The neutron interacts through all four fundamental interactions: the electromagnetic, weak nuclear, strong nuclear and gravitational interactions.

Something like that but more fundamental.

There were rumors that the name was 'Indiana Jones and Gods’ City' looks like they reconsidered.

Nice music indeed, is not it Trojan? Much better than the blue bird. But the gates of the city of Gods is not so easy to unlock. I heard there are dragons on watch. tongue.gif laugh.gif

I feel they will not film something impressive.
All will end in a story that some Gods-extraterestrials came
from somewhere, constructed a city, used locals for daily works,
used some advanced instrumentation and made the well known
crystal skull, which maybe will turn to contain some information
within in form of holographic code when one directs laser on it.
And Indiana will ventuer to find the skull and save it from some evil organization which wants to get power from the city of the "Gods".

Hardly they will film something that can surprise.

Even from my far away country I feel that the imagination of Mr. Lucas and Mr. Spilberg has faded away.

It is so pity.
