In response to trojan_libido

1. You're right I did not read through the 5 pages.

and i was aghast at how much i would have had to read so i skipped.

2. "Its really not true that the quantity of male/female relationships dictates your true sexuality"

It's seems to me that one would have more sexual encounters with the sex or person they enjoyed the most. So if you enjoy females more than males then signs are pointing towards lesbian or vice versa.
Your friend was sexual abused. That's horrible and also goes back to my first entry about being sexually abused and how it can affect ones sexuality.

"Its also possible to not get any sex from any gender, does this mean these people are bi-sexual until that first encounter?"
No, they have not encountered sex yet, so how could they be bi-sexual.
I think it goes beyond sex. It's about relationships and who completes you. With these types of relationship usually comes sex.

3.Female and male sexuality is for completely different reasons. A woman looks for a stable bread winner and good DNA for their children. A man is often just looking to get his rocks off. This is the reason the gay relationships are very unstable and so promiscuous.

A very "animalistic" approach to the matter. I don't think girls go around looking for "good" DNA. What is good DNA... blonde hair, blues eyes, intelligence, square jaw, big uh..... feet, clay plate in your bottom lip.

4. It sounds to me that you rather have a female companion which to me makes you a lesbian, but because of your situation with family and friends, you feel that the negative impact is far greater than the positive you would receive if you were to let yourself be. I can understand that. You have responsibilities and if you have children (which i think you do) then you are responsible for their lives or at least up bringing.

But if you are honestly saying that you are not a lesbian, then ok.
by honest i mean if you knew you could have a realtionship with another woman and your family and friends would not be negatively affected. If that was the case, would your life partner be a female?

anyways... you are who you are, and only you know that.
Best of luck

If you replace Lesbian with Gay, then your on the right track. I am a male, but I think my testosterone and oestrogen levels are different from your ordinary bloke, not that I cant grow a beard!

I can't find the research on this at the moment, but there has been studies done which uphold my view. A selection of men were made to exercise in a T-Shirt until it was thoroughly soaked in their sweat. A group females were then given each T-Shirt and asked to rate the smell on a scale. After this was done the DNA of each volunteer was taken and tested, and there was a very strong correlation showing that the preferred smell came from a man who had the most complementary DNA - and by complementary I mean different. This supports a view that the selection of partners is, in part, based on genetic diversity. The body is really selecting a good partner to diversify the gene pool! Its also fairly clear that big strong healthy guys with good skin and teeth are preferred over tiny scrawny guys with acne and crooked teeth. Some of these traits are indeed down to DNA.

This link is to similar research but is not the same study as I've mentioned above: http://www.geneticarchaeology.com/Research...ls_pleasant.asp

If I was a girl then I would definately be a lesbian! In fact when I get to Heaven I'm going to ask to be reincarnated as one wink.gif It may also be true that I would have a long term gay relationships if I was a girl, since the stigma is a lot less for women.

The problem is bisexuality is often not accepted by straight or gay groups. There has been research done where men were shown gay porn in a clinical environment and the straight men were repulsed by the images, the gay men were turned on. So some intelligent people somewhere concluded that there is no such thing as a bisexual man. I'd like to examine this a little more with the following statement:

If you were a closet bisexual/gay struggling with coming out, and you participated in this clinical trial, wouldn't your anxiety be enough to stop you getting aroused? If you were straight and saw those images and were even slightly aroused, it would probably be the first time you'd seen gay porn. Then the fact you were being watched would hit home and the disgust at your own thoughts would finish the job of concealing any arousal. I've already documented my own experiences with this in earlier posts, so I'm talking from experience without a clinical atmosphere and in private.

I believe that research was completely biased and did not take into account all psychological factors. Observing the behaviour alters the behaviour.

Anyway, jokes aside, I have to agree with trojan here.

Personally, I don't believe in "sexuality" in the same way most people view it. Sexual pleasure is achieved through physical stimulation, and your body doesn't care whether that stimulation is done by a man, woman or an inanimate object.

I acknowledge the fact that some people are more attracted to men and others to women, but in my opinion it boils down to preference, in the same way that some are more attracted to people based on their height or skin colour.

Homosexuality is a thing of psychology, not biology.

That's an opinion. Subject to scientific scrutiny.
Psychology? Biology (somatology)? Please, don't forget pneumatology--the role of the individual and his/her choice? And why the choice is made. I say this, without prejudice or malice towards homosexuals. Like any human individual: some can be fine, physical, mental and spiritual human beings. Some can be rotten ones.
