Love is Free

The parts of me in balance form the whole
Of me and I need all my parts to be
Complete even if completely alone

I wanted to share but she wanted more
I hope she found what she was looking for
But what she really wanted was my soul
And without my soul there can be no me

I can see now how she felt incomplete
Hungry for someone else's soul to eat
How sad that she could never find her own!

Hollow and empty starving at the feast
Her means could never justify her ends

I wish she could have shared awhile with me
I wish she could have tasted love at least
And her soul and my soul might have been friends

She never understood that love is free

love never expects, it gives and moves freely

this poem would go well with one I have written earlier,

Rising

I look behind to wonder
I wonder so much to wonder on
Yet the sky wraps me in its breeze
Pegasus kidnaps this child to the sun
He sails up with the wind as I too feel a rising within
The weight is falling off like rust dissolving in the air
As shimmering rainbow butterflies appear welcoming
The blue globe fades away beneath my feet
No more dissapointments, no more nightmares, no more fears
No more betrayals, no more crime, no more tears of pain
For this soul, this life is free

I paint a golden bridge up to the ethereal
There's a smiling face waiting
A heart caring, two eyes nurturing
Someone who knows and embraces all I'm feeling
Two arms surrounding me with all clouds of warmth and joy
Someone who's been burning to tell me things
Who's been meaning to show me a thousand rooms
Sacred moments every day, every night
Somewhere to stay, never to leave

Gentle Doves guide me with glimmering mirth
Rain of light brushes my skin
I can't believe I'm coming home

I die to lift from white covers
And fleeting to merciful grace I rise
