oh my desire,
my burning raven, lasting lady of endurance
scented by this fragile garden of pomegranates,
i offer you my kingdom, my moonstone lover
my night spector whispering in the soft breezes,
casting unholy light, a majesty upon my tree of life
oh glorious Amazonian beast, glowing in bronzite,
Labradorite illuminations, concealed feldspar
fickle deities kaleidoscope amid blue and green,
the patient wisdom in our creation is mysterious,
seen only briefly in the power and awe of the gods,
sitting a-top the crown, the black claw which guides
and protects our earthly souls from heavenly palaces.
silent spectral angels will bear this burning body
for you only, to view, or judge in your own time
and those who bellow grief will know compassion
my gentle snowflake, my splendour, my desire,
oh pious devourers ablaze in the glory of my love,
i fall upon this blood libel, a slave to your mercy,
oh my tree of life, oh my polluted gods,
oh my rutilated foundation, oh my desire…

We are sinful not merely because we have eaten of the tree of knowledge, but also because we have not eaten of the tree of life.Franz Kafka
