Back Home to the Dark
I went for a walk with my eyes to the ground
Ordinarily I keep them to the skies
But after that beckoning quarter I found
I knew it could never have been otherwise
I looked up and looked down I looked all around
And I could see it was a very good day
To live and especially to live as me
Already seeing how exercise can pay
So I pumped my fist in solidarity
With the anti-war protesters in the park
Twenty-five cents richer lucky as can be
And feeling a chill went back home to the dark
