A new experimental Mind-Brain.org Forum is at http://mind-brain.org/forum . It is still in preliminary stages, but thought some might like to test it out a bit.

I suppose this transition is as good a time as any. I'm going to break my own rule by announcing my departure. The only reason I'm doing so is because I know it's the only way I'll keep myself away. I have no discipline, you see. But I know if I tell everyone I'm leaving, I won't want to make a fool of myself by returning--even for a peek (so no sense in responding).

After a blissful year off, I'm back at work again, full time. I need to be mentally sharp at the job. I develop software, and the computer never misses a mistake. When I'm not working, I have a family to attend to, and exercise and sleep would be nice, too. Every time I step into this portal, I spend way too much time here--and then something suffers--usually sleep.

Anyway, enough. Good luck with the new forum, the singularity, and Cybert. (For God's sake, don't forget to donate!) Thanks to all, especially Shawn/ld ;-)

I'm sorry to hear that, but it's good to get away every now and then. Hopefully we'll see you again.
