Full Version: How can one enhance memory to a phenomenal level?

I have been searching on google for ways to increase memory or how someone can quickly transfer information they may gather from short-term memory to long-term memory. Most of the sites are commercial sites selling bullshit products to gullible people. I have found a few pages giving general suggestions of how to increase memory using some simple techniques.

Anyone here have any insight they may like to share on increasing memory naturally? (Without the use of pills, etc) I am interested in trying to experiment to increase my memory to a phenomenal level. (E.g. Reading 900 page books and remember all or nearly all the details) I believe it is possible if one practice and train their brain enough since the mind is powerful and there is still so much not known about it. Now I am not naive and do not think someone can immediately learn in hours, but I believe it is possible in a couple of months with daily practice.

Just a little info on myself
I am a 21yr old male, and I believe I have pretty good memory (I also have been told as well)

One method I have thought about beginning on is starting off flipping through some new books, newspapers etc, picking random sentences, and try to remember and retrieve them through the day. (Thinking about it, writing it down on paper and then compare what I wrote to what it actually is) I would gradually increase to phrases, paragraphs, etc.

Any suggestions, comments, or info would be appreciated.

There seems to be a lot of jargon used, that I am unfamiliar with?

Though to the question of extending memory?

Personally would break up memory into memory of; images, text, sounds, tactile experiences etc.

Then look at what priority, memory of those items have been given, in terms of past usefulness? of day to day living .
e.g. memory of names (sounds) has high priority if working in a face to face work place were customers come first? Verses memory of news items (visual) noted in the scenery on the way to work
The real art is to learn how to prioritise memory from my perspective... this is purely speculation on my part.. smile.gif

No.

Galantamine. An acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (AChI). Huperzine-A is another AChI.

More expensive option is Donepezil
