Full Version: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome induced brain fog - Nootropics?

Hi,

I've just started researching Nootropics with a view to alleviating brain fog caused by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(see wikipedia).

I'm in late 30's and am completing a Doctorate at present and find that problems with concentration are really hindering me. I'm rather hesitant to start self-medicating and plan to start slowly on Piracetam and build on that. I haven't actually consulted my Doctor but will do later, though I don't expect much help.

I'm wondering what I should do to properly monitor my health as I experiment. Should I have frequent blood work done to monitor kidney/liver function? Or is that going overboard given that I plan to start on those nootropics that are deemed relatively safe based on research literature?

that's going overboard if just using piracetam, though you prob want one blood test to see if you have some other problem. Maybe try running, jogging, swimming, or something aerobic and high endurance to relieve your symptoms. A little caffeine sometimes helps too.
