I will be playing a role in conducting a small study on the effects of Piracetam in healthy adults.
This will hopefully be one of many series of studies designed by me to explore the biochemical and neurochemical effects of several "smart drugs".
The study designated Piracetam 001 will be looking at Piracetam's enhancing effects on a certain blood marker in healthy adults.
I look forward to the results of the study and will report on the forum as soon as the study is done.
The study is expect to start in Jan 2007.
Anyone interested may contact me for details.

Exceptions: If you have a blood disorder, taking any blood thinners (aspirin, etc), shark liver oil, or have been taking Piracetam daily for the past month.
Age Group: 20-35.

how recent does the blood work need to be? I think I have a copy of some taken a year ago lying around. If you will be looking at blood tests before and after piracetam intake, who will be administering the blood tests? A local doctor?

Too bad I don't meet the age requirement--because I'm under 20, of course. Plus, I'd rather chew glass than divulge my weight to any forum member--doctor or not. (I'm terribly underweight.)
Seriously, I'm really disappointed that I can't participate. Since joining here and doing a little research, I'm curious about Piracetam. Can't you throw in a few people who might not meet the age requirement--just for fun? If not, I hope you'll share the results of the study with the forum.

Ideally within the past 5 years to help establish a rough baseline. There is numerous blood drawing centers in nearly every city. Once you are considered for the study a blood test form will be send to you with a list of centers close to you. This is a prepaid form for a blood test, simply go to the center present the form, they will draw your blood, and within a few weeks send you the results. You will forward the results to the sponsor of the study where I will review it. If everything looks fine you will be sent a bottle of Piracetam in which you will be instructed to take 9.6 grams (12 capsules of 800 mg) daily divided in 3-4 doses a day for 10 days. On the 7th day you have your blood tested again and can continue or discontinue taking Piracetam.

Don't worry there will been many more ongoing studies after this one. However only for those 18 and older.

I think OnlyNow was being facetious. You need to expand the upper limit (for future studies) so I can participate too. I have bloodwork from a few months ago, and I take no drugs except an occasional aspirin tablet. I assume a glass of wine now and then doesn't count as a drug.

Future studies will be looking at all age ranges from 18-80. Also several other compounds and combinations wil be studied.

FYI: I still have everyones information. However the study will have to wait until Jan due to a drop in Piracetam availability in the US. Everyone will receive an e-mail to confirm their interest in the study.
Thank you

I will have to repost this as several people on my list as would expected over time are not currently available. I will take this time to slightly change the criteria to enlarge my study group. Look for a new posting regarding this study shortly.
