I took BrainMeta offline for a few hours earlier to fix an unauthorized forum security breach that resulted in a posting of the WMF (Windows Meta File) exploit. The security hole has been fixed, though forum visitors using unpatched versions of Windows and Internet Explorer should be warned and take proper actions if necessary.

Please let me know if anyone has experienced any problems from this. This sort of thing is very unlikely to happen again as I have fixed the security vulnerability in the forum code that was exploited.

I looked around on the internet and came across multiple instances of this same type of forum exploit, beginning earlier this year, so this is not an isolated instance. Unfortunately, I was not aware of these types of forum exploits in advance so I wasn't able to take any proactive measures against them. I will try to be more aware of forum security issues in the future to make sure this doesn't happen again.
