Afternoon Chess


Blissful moments afternoon flow
Ginger Nut Earl Grey hot cinnamon rolls
Bursts of laughter whilst we lounge
Gazing softly the outs and abouts

What say you? Raising your yield?
Fight or flight? Go on run and hide!
No! I uprouse Cowardice is never my type!

Arm your horses and your men!
Blacks and Whites nigh we shall fight!

Screams of sirens yells aloud!
War and battle has broken about!
Pawns and knights curtail each other's way!
Fire the cannons! Horses all dismayed!

Cloaks and daggers silence enshroud
Suddenly my bishop cheers and shouts!
Your rook has gone too far and out!

Surely my kingdom shall win! you say
No! Get off your high horse and comfort surrey!
We shall witness who holds true might!
When come to past the rest of day's light!
