Bluegrass, mountain music, its high lonesome sound, deeply rooted with influence from Ireland, Scotland and England as well as African Americans, songs from simple folk with hearts as big as the country they came to settle. Poor white trash that left an undying legacy to music the world over, all this and more from a people whom the governments of the world wanted to eradicate from the pages of history, considered unfit and uneducated? A romantic fantasy perhaps…but i somehow feel a sense of belonging when i hear the music.

each song tells a story... whether it is love gained, loved lost... a longing for a heavenly home.... or about Bob who stole a knife from a general store... it is a beautiful sound... nothing is like the banjo and mandolin as they strum in harmony... makes me smie smile.gif
