Saga Of An Angel

Satan, down below
Is calling me out.
He wants a fight
And I have one for him.
He wants me to do his bidding,
To sin and let my wings go.
But no.
I want to fly,
I want my dreams,
I want my fantasies.
But he keeps calling.
Day and night.
Night and day.
I will not give up.
I will not give in.
For if I do,
I have sinned
And lost my wings
And my place in the sky
.....
....
...
As God's graceful watching eye

I've been reading this poem again, and I find it to be very hopeful and encouraging; it has a healing quality to it which draws me.

As you were in a flowing mood when you wrote it, so you put me in a flowing mood when I read it. I have been thinking about this transmission of emotion, this spiritual circuit of sharing which we effect as poets; I think we are unaware of it almost always, and yet it is demonstrably and palpably present: from writer to reader to writer again. I can see why we have poetry websites!

When I said "g'day" earlier, I had just been speaking with my Ozzie cousin; I don't quite say that natively, but it was in his honor. In any case, g'day.

And, while we're at it, cheers,

+Stevie
