Blood slowly drips downward
From the sacrificial heart
The eyes of the lost
Cease to glimmer
Warm hands grow cold now
From deaths eternal toll
Guilt slows the breath
Of a killer he knew too well
Try to run and hide from
Your devious nature
You will feed once again
On the soul of innocence
No longer a friend
In this game of torture
Screams of pain and anguish
Silenced by a word
Love has been removed
Never to return again
Her cruelty and beauty
Collide into destruction
This wounded man
Shall never be the same

I read this one first, actually, but I got distracted by others coming in, finding pictures of Narwhal to post here, and then all my usual doings on AuthorsDen, where they seem to be getting used to me (and buying a few books, thank God!).
That sacrificial heart part is especially cool; it makes me think of those pyramids of human sacrifice, and also maybe revenge against someone who broke the hearts of others. My daughter would read these poems of yours today and see the face of one guy in particular, as I can see it even now...
Thanks and love,

I am sorry. I am not usually a glutton for response. I don't often love my own work, but I really liked this one. Thanks Stevie.
Much love to you,

It really is a good one, Snoop.
Hey, I forgot to tell you that my son Stevie is also in a little band called The Shark That Ate My Friend, with his friend Mitch Eaton. They're really good too, and I predict great things for them someday too.
Thanks and love,

A whole lot of talent in your family. Kudos to you and the kids. Send my love to your daughter ok. I will keep an eye out for your son's bands. Again, that is really cool.

See that is all anyone needs. Some of my friends laugh because I hang out with my dear mom on Friday nights. At my work, on Friday they know about my mom date and ask "So, what movie will you be seeing today?" We have a blast together. I am learning how funny she actually is. I treasure the time we spend together. She thinks it's great and says she could have never done the same with her own mother. I love my family very much and we are very close. You have to be when you move a lot. Now we are grounded here in WI and it's great. I didn't realize you had three children. Send my love a well wishes to all.
Love,
Nikki

Thanks, Nikki.
I always used to have a date with my Mom on Friday nights, and then with my Mom and Grandma when Grandma was with us after Grandpa died. Now they are all gone. But my daughter Maria and I have a date every Tuesday; we had an especially great time yesterday. Whenever one of the boys comes over, I have a date with one or both of them as well.
Other than my kids, I hang out with their friends or else poets and poetry fans I know around town. My social life is either my own or somebody else's kids, or else Freddie Noodles, my good old fat old cat.
Sometimes nice people come to visit me at home here too. My son Teddy often pops in with a friend who wants to meet me. It's nice.
I'm just myself, like I always was; I don't, like, try to be cool or something, but I seem to relate much better to younger people than older. Many people my age are really conservative, which is utterly incomprehensible to me. Like over on AuthorsDen; they give me a headache.
Great to have you here, Nikki; say hello to Manders for me. I hope she will post some new poems too.
Thanks and love,
+Stevie
