Just the Two of Us

If I am an outsider and you are too
That means I am not an outsider with you
Together you and I with one another
Form our own inside as sister to brother
As comrade to comrade come in from the cold
To fountains of youth where we never grow old
The water of which is curiosity

The very essence of life which you share with me

The war will get worse great monster storms will come
Unimagined terrors are well underway
Yet through strife and bird flu you and I share some
Sweet and secret moments on the darkest day
Just the two of us as what will be will be
If you are an outsider and I am too
Then we are insiders who know what to do

Our eyes are wide open now: as we wait ...and see

Thanks, Cousin Greg, and love and strength to you. We are not alone, and that makes all the difference to the struggle. We often feel isolated, but we are all out here together in our millions, like far stars twinkling to one another across the universe; as one we weave a mighty banner of light across the night.

Thanks and love, Cousin; shine on forever, and I will too,
