Worn Road

i've barely begun to travel down this worn road

my body still aching from the last

my heart still limping

i'm going as fast as i can

trying hard to put the weight back on both feet

not to let the hurt consume

but i want to suffer through each step

to make the journey worth it

i want my heart to swell like my ankle

and when i reach the end i'll rest then

Nice work Manders!

Indeed it is nice work, Manders Flanders! Lolly is right, and I'm glad she found it and replied to it, so that it's moved back up the board again. I remember reading it and enjoying it, relating to it when you first posted it, but I was so busy writing my own stuff and dealing with other--far lesser!--websites that I didn't reply until now. I apologize for this, and for not replying to so many good poems of so many good poets. I am learning that the more time I spend here at BrainMeta, at home as it were, the happier and more grounded I feel; as you know, there are a lot of absolutely horrible poetry sites out there. Yowza!

I'm just glad you're here, that I'm here, and that there is a here here, for all of us.

I always enjoy your poetry.

Thanks and love,

+Stevie
