Ok guys so this year was my first year of getting a grant. I got my first grant a pell grant. Yeah I know its nothing special, but hey I did what I could and Im poor so it works out great so far. Problem is its only 550 dollars a semester. I need more money then that to go to school and I dont like working while going to school cause it seems like a big waste of time. I would rather be studying and taking more hours. Ok so I got that Free Money Lesko book and I really like it. Anyone else use it or other books of his. What about websites that you like or other books of same interest. I would really like to hear how any of you got your scholarships or grants. This would be a great topic I think for this forum. Especially since we have alot of people interested in keeping there mind equipped with the proper goods. So lets hear it. I am going to try and apply for some other grants, and scholorships now. I live in kansas and dont really know which one will be in my best interest. Im going to crack down on this stuff tonight now hopefully you all can help.

this is for undergraduate or graduate? For graduate school, the school should pay you to go. For undergraduate, if you didn't get scholarships or parents don't pay, then maybe take out a loan. Usually, if you do well in h.s. or SAT, then the uni will pay you some money to attend their undergraduate program.

well i was a screw up in highschool and on the sat test. That was back in the day when i used to get high. But now Im clean and have been for over 2 years. Is it worth giving the SAT another try? Will they let me take it over to improve my score or is it just a one time deal? Im a undergraduate. I have 55 hours of credit and satisfactory academic progress. There allowing me to take out loans but I dont want to. I know there are plenty of grants and scholorships out there. bump
Trip like I do
....how bout work your f'ing ass off so that they will want to pay your way?

if you're confident you can pay back the loan after you get your degree, then don't rule that out as a viable option. On the other hand, if you want an M.D., then you'll need that loan for medical school and should probably not take out loans for undergrad work. But if it's just undergrad schooling you're concerned about, then consider a loan in addition to other options.
