Bump Bump in the night-
superior thinking bore-
amusement for me.
+Steven Curtis Lance
Hey, I like this; it's sly and really witty, layered and with delightful levels of meaning.

This reminds me of how I have just felt watching the middle-of-the-night / terribly-early-morning news, with idiots yammering about things they do not know; they are unintentionally hilarious... but, when I think about it more, it is sad. Absurd, I guess is the word. Anyway, that's what this haiku made me think of: how I feel when I watch the news. Why do I even watch it? I will go to sleep now, and when I wake up, I will re-read Steppenwolf. I know I have so many wonderful poems to which I should be replying; I apologize to everyone! It's just that this war has been on my mind too much, and I've been watching too much stupid McHappy-News on the telly. Enough of that! I think I will just do like I did during Vietnam, and "shine it on," as we used to say; it could drive a person nuts, especially to hear the warmongers talk.

Anyway, I love your haiku.

You can really do great things with these haiku. You really know how to use the form, in my opinion, to maximum effect.

Respect and solidarity, and so to bed for now,

+Stevie
