lost for words

the penitent man shall pass this day
when others have fallen lost evermore
struggling in these depths of despair
time shall be my devotee, soft and sexy
as she sings blissfully for my salvation.

take this gift i offer, open for dealings
on this cold summer morning when,
resolution shall be our only bedfellow
lost love lingering, keeping company,
playing for keeps while the devil sings

fools errand, scorn me i am lost for words
but i keep my covert, still, untouched
free and pure, you shall not go by,
until you set forty pieces of silver,
upon my rotting distended corpse.
