I am currently reading a book by John Welwood called "Toward a Psychology of Awakening" and find it very interesting. He tries to combine Western psychoanalytic approaches with Eastern meditative ones. Has anyone read anything by him? Any opinions about him?

No (speaking for the entire forum), but the book sounds fascinating. Maybe you could tell us about it.

I will write more as I read more of the book. It is an excellent read, and attempts to explain and relate the suprapersonal, the interpersonal, and the personal aspects of our experiental field and consciousness.

From reading Welwood's page on authority and gurus, he seems like a knowledgeable and good writer.
