Still, although I cannot begin to explain this art I love so well and to which I give my life, I have saved this little treasure-trove of quotations which, I believe, shed light on a working theory of poetics, a working theory by which I work in any case.

I'm no scholar, just a brain-damaged intuitive, but these words have meaning to me, so much so that I have been saving them up on my AuthorsDen homepage now for awhile. Perhaps they are not so much a working theory of poetics as a functional operational assumption for life; but life is poetry, poetry is life, if poetry is one's life-work.

In any case, I just wanted to share. I'm getting older and sicker, and feeling like sharing. I would like to be useful, perhaps even helpful, at this late hour.

I wish I were better at sharing, actually.

I send everybody my sincere respect, in unbreakable solidarity. We are all in this together, and might as well stick together. The world, as you know, has gone completely mad. I think only we artists can help it now, if only by making it more endurable by making it a little more beautiful.
