You know I feel bad about the handling of this whole "misrepresenting" thing. I felt from the beginning that it should have been dealt with privately. It was also somewhat unfair in my view that a whole new slew of requests, requirements, and changes were being proposed to the advisor position and you were caught in the middle.
The positive aspect is that the Institute should be able to move forward safely and stronger than before. Hopefully Imminst will be able to manage the risk that comes with discussing radical supplements and therapies.
I am just suggesting these things because you seem like someone who is very interested in life extension and knowledgeable about noos, and if you are who you say you are, I think you can make valuable contributions far into the future.
Sincerely, Mind
A sincere request

Would mind if I just call you Lee?
My point is that I would like to ask you to give me an idea of how you would like this process to go forward. I am very unhappy about how it is unfolding and I am unsure why this is happening. I have my suspicions but what is more important to me is to find out from you what you think would be a fair outcome that treats you with respect but addresses the concerns of others.
I have purposely not taken a open stand because I was frankly outside the loop when this all began and I have been trying to come up to speed. As fast as I read somethings others are printed that take issues to another level. Do you have any suggestions about how we can resolve and move past this situation?
Again I apologize for how you have been treated and I wish that when we had the discussion over the CV in the beginning it had been addressed more directly. I think it is wrong to consider you responsible for that decision then. The problem is that the issue is now being framed around other concerns of extended liability and this is not unreasonable in our overly litigious society IMHO.
Anyway I hope we can find a better way to resolve this.
Sincerely,
laz

allow me to express my sincerest regrets concerning the way this issue was handled.
I hope you will not walk away to far, but wherever your path may take you, I wish you well.

Adam will be successful, regardless of his sometimes abrasive behavior. I want ImmInst to be a part of this success.

Kevin Perrott: "He is a source of information for many and an asset to ImmInst whose value would suffer should this be true."
caliban: "Could we tune down the fever pitch, please?
- I'm sure unintentionally, the 'allegation is worded rather brusquely. LifeMirage is a valued member who has contributed a great deal to ImmInst.
- The 'allegation' was posted seven hours ago, and people have chimed in already. Why not give him some time to respond?
- On John's point: while I agree in principle, Nootropics is a gray area where I accept that disclosing your full name might carry such unhelpful professional and private repercussions that exemptions are warranted. Especially if you are indeed working in the health service."
Mind: "I agree with Caliban. Lifemirage is a valued member and should be allowed to respond. He has always been extremely careful posting disclaimers such as:

All advice is personal & not endorsed by ImmInst.
Caution: This is my own personal regimen, is not endorsed by by Imminst. I strongly recommend everyone do their own research before taking anything listed below.
"Bruce: Since no other leader has been forced to submit a CV, and Lifemirage would like to keep his "home life" private and unaffected from public activities, perhaps you can privately view his CV and verify (or not) to the rest of us that he does has a degree from Albany College."
Justin Rebo: "He provided information about himself during the discussion about whether to elect him as an advisor or not.
http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?s=&...8&hl=lifemirageWhere he mentioned that he does have an MD from Albany medical college."
"Bruce, whether or not any of this holds any validity it is not in the best interests of imminst to go accusing members of imminst leadership of being liars without first talking to them first. You did the same thing with me in another thread dealing with nootropi and it doesn't foster a respectful environment."
prometheus "He has been proactive in protecting his identity, for which I cannot blame him - google "Harold Brenner" and you still get "lies & Terri Schiavo" thanks to Chip."
"It would enhance the presige of Imminst greatly if it were known that one of its advisors is a MD."

A few personally thoughts…
I believe in the intentions of The Immortality Institute and (despite any personally issues) highly respect its members and leaders accomplishments, which have much to say to me about their character as a whole. The Immortality Institute is a young organization with what I hope will continue to grow and adapt to form a strong foundation. Several of the issues that have developed in this thread will have a significant impact on how The Immortality Institute functions and communicates with its members and the rest of the world.
But one individual does not create the rules and laws arbitrarily, only as a group can it decide on the proper course of action to address issues that may arise.
One of my core beliefs is that people be informed of their options and that they have choices in life, whether it be Immortality, Life Extension, or alternative treatments not recognized by the FDA…etc. But only through organizations such as this can such information be intelligently expressed and discussed with the purpose of better understanding.
I have appreciated my role with The Immortality Institute being the advisor to what is obviously the most active forum, albeit it not the most important in pertinence. Instead of simple being an active poster, I choose to be not only a Leader but also a Lifetime member to show my support. I've asked Bruce on a few occasions for pamphlets and other handouts to pass along awareness of The Immortality Institute. However my personal life is quite active and The Immortality Institute does take up a significant amount of time that I can spend on several other projects. My writings are the important contributions I believe I can offer everyone. Also considering Bruce's apparent relationship of Adam/Nootropi (which is an obvious concern to me) I will be leaving my leadership position 4 months from today. I will still post here assuming leadership does not oppose but less frequently. Also I've accepted Shawn Mikula Ph.D., Neuroscience (from Johns Hopkins University) offer recently as a moderator on his website
www.brainmeta.com.
It's been a pleasure and I wish you all the best in your personal goals.
