The navel stone
**************
The navel stone in our village
Is situated at a four cornered center
All our villagers express their sincere gratitude
To the stone treating it as a super power element

Our village start agricultural operations
After paying the due respect to it by sprinkling
Lots of turmeric powder and saffron on the stone
In order to seek its blessings for peace and prosperity

When the village was reeling under stakes of drought
And the green lands are turning to gray ones
All the people including women wet their eyes
and prayed for drops of rain before this stone god

The stone GOD after a prolonged altercation with the rain GOD blessed us
With bountiful of rains and hence comforted us with high yields in crops
Entire village there after decided to celebrate the event as annual festival
And just not as a ritual at all

When ever we propose to celebrate weddings or other welfare functions
We sprinkle turmeric powder and saffron on the stone plaque
And seek its blessings all in our life and pray for the universal brotherhood too
We all in all devote our dedications to the navel stone GOD ever and forever

This is wonderful, my dear friend.

I am reminded of T. S. Eliot's idea of "the still point of the turning world;"

"At the still point
There the dance is"

I always enjoy your poetry, and find it to be rewardingly meaningful and insightful.

Love,

+Stevie
