I pause, to strand amid this stream; the waters’ course aweighs my stance.
My back is braced against the flow of winters’ thaw and quickened splash.

Reflections floating farther still, bourne out my flashing, cornered eye;
peripherals are dizzying before the calming eddy’s whirl.

What’s done and gone is presently within my rapt envisioned trance.
What’s yet to pass is bearing down beyond my shoulders’ careless shrug.

What’s here and now, in fleeting glance, to crash and wrest its’ awful race;
what’s done and past, comes now and then, to wend its’ way and take my place.
