Loving hearts
Cracked and bleeding
Stiched together
Always seeming
Quite alright
But tonight
Cupid's darts
Are striking hearts
Dead and rotten
Hurt, forgotton.
Halmark Holiday
no true feeling
just like any day
but emotions reeling
feel alone
undesired
negative
feelings fired
to the breaking point.
2/14
spreads envy green
as green is spent
on where you went
was it enough
to satisfy?
Or will she choose
to say goodbye?
Total stranger
a blind date's better
than the lonliness
of being bitter.
National obsession
need
for for possession.
Desperately need love
singlehood is not enough
even if voluntary
negative stigmas very
prevalent.
ROSES ARE RED,
but embarassment redder.
VIOLETS ARE BLUE,
but diamonds are better.
SUGAR IS SWEET,
but none for you.
Happy Valentine's day
I LOVE YOU too. [i][color=#CC33CC]

This is great, Misty!
I was really bitter about V-day, actually (I love that title, by the way; it's great!), until it was over... when I realized--just a few moments ago, as a matter of fact--that it had been a good day after all, and that I am fortunate, far more fortunate than I ever imagined when I was, frankly, dreading the coming of V-day.
As I say in my poem:
"Valentine's day turned out to be
Quietly meaningful for me"
Only a few minutes ago, this poem just poured out of me all at once; I don't think I've ever written a poem any faster. Franziska was so kind to me, she made the true meaning of the day into reality for me, transcending the "Hallmark Holiday."
Your poetry is always powerful. I am so happy to see new works of yours here and be able to read you again, in these wee small hours here where I am in the dark. Thank you for being the beautiful person and poet which you are. You make us so much better here.
Love,
+Stevie
