Our village

Our village has the history of many sorts
It cared and vied for the comforts of the village
And strived hard to place us on the top
In every aspect concerning our welfare.

Our village always had a mixed fortunes
One way exhilarating in delight
And exulting in the other way under despair
Widening the wings and abridging them at times

Never it advocated strife and waged any war
It always craved for peace and prosperity
It never flied so high or sunk deeper in the mid sea
It for ever tried to balance our odds and evens

When there was no rain drop to wet the green fields
It shed tears all the time and was shocked for the obstacles
It raised always to our expectations and enlivened to the circumstances
It never tried to cross our bearable boundaries

We owed a lot to its wisdom
And heavily indebted to its kindness
Our village is our eyes ears and heart
It is our mind, body and soul

This is beautiful and wise, my dear friend Supani, and in a way it reminds me of my own village, Old Towne Orange, California. A big city has grown up around my village, but, within the original square mile I know and love so well, it is still and always will be our village.

Thank you for your perspective on home and a sense of place, one which I share, here on the other side of this planet which we share as the one great village of us all.

Respect and solidarity to your village from mine, and, as always, love to you from me,

+Stevie
