well.. Okay I think I might have some solutions for you. First thing you could try is Lucids idea of the piece of paper, it goes like this
QUOTE
The idea came to me after reading about the use of subliminal advertising in
cinemas in the 1950s, I think it was. A frame of the film being shown would
every so often contain the name of a brand of drink; but the name would not
be perceived by the viewer's consciousness. It was however noted by the
subconscious mind with the result that people would automatically seek out
the brandname drink in question, having no idea that they had been influenced
to do this by the film they saw! Eventually this form of advertising was made
illegal. I experienced what must have been a similar, if less subtle, technique
when I saw a video of the film The Exorcist. Every so often a leering demonic
face would appear for a split second or so and to this day, try as I might, I
cannot forget it. I saw the film again the other day and it wasn't in it so I
think they must have stopped putting it in.
Now here is my mind power idea. I will use an example of money which is what
everybody wants. If you want $1000 write this amount on a large sheet of
paper. Write in big, clear print. Now stick this paper on the wall facing your
bed. The next thing you need is a flashlight, preferably one with a straight
forward on/off switch - not one of those where you have to press the button
once for 'on' and again for `off`, this type is too slow.
Next you need an alarm clock which you should set off at a time when you
know you will be in deep sleep and when it will be pitch black in darkness. Keep
your flashlight within arm's reach of your bed and when the alarm clock goes
off stop it and immediately grab the flashlight. Now looking towards where
you stuck your sheet of paper flash the flashlight at it three times, allowing
one or two seconds between each time. When this is done return to sleep and
do not think further about the money you want.
Now if your not into waking up in the middle of the night you could try a few other things.
Subliminal Suggestion:
Their is a lot of freeware for subliminal suggestion using either visual, auditory or both. A simple google search for "subliminal freeware" or shareware will get you a subliminal program. The key is where you want to do the subliminal suggestion, if your going for visual, then you can just sit on your computer (doing whatever) and recieve the suggestions. If you are more intrested in auditory, unless you look deep into the subject you will probably just want to go with the usual methods. To do this the idea is to have some sort of music playing, at a lower volume you will have the suggestion. The idea is that the conciousness percieves the music and the subconcious percieves the suggestion. You can also accomplish this at night by making a recording of whatever suggestion you want and then letting it play. Keep in mind that this sort of subliminal suggestion is actually good for changing behaviours. It is not as good at learning a language or things requiring high level thought (although im sure you have seen tapes for learning french in your sleep). So if you wish to stop procrastinating this is a good way to change the behaviour of proctrastination. Now if you dont a microphone to record your voice their is another option which is to use a program called, Text Aloud. A google search will get it for you and it works fairly simply.
A example of a script could be:
I will accomplish my goals
I will stop procrastinating
I will be assertive in accomplishing goals
Some important points about subliminal messages is that positive words are much better than negative, so if you wished to stop procrastinating the words "I will stop procrastinating" are better than "I will not procrastinate". People tend to respond better on conciouss and subconciouss levels if the words are positive, in fact a command can be completly ignored if you were to say "dont fall" or something similar.
Hypnosis:
Self-Hypnosis is a fairly simple process and heavily relies on your ability to focus, visualize and relax. If you wanna use hypnosis then just post it and I will write a script for you.
NLP:
I am going to give you two methods, these are probably the methods with the least amount of hassle.
Just read this and maybe re-read
As you sit there in your chair and feel the weight of your body pressing down, you can see the light glowing off of your computer screen, you can hear the slight buzzing coming from your computer and stop procrastinating and relax.
You know the funny thing about people who try to
stop doing things? sometimes they
procrastinate then they have trouble
stopping because they are too busy
procrastinating.
But I already know you
dont want to
procrastinate because
your assertive arnt you? After all the people ive talked to they all agree
procrastinating is a waste of time and it
isnt for you. So why dont we
end your
procrastination right
now? I am sure that you will
take charge[/u] and [i]accompilsh your goals. Many people believe that you can
preform tasks in a
timely manner. To accomplish what you want in a resonable time you should
end your procrastination.
You agree that you can
stop procrastination now dont you? I believe to stop these delays in
accomplishing goals you need to
do as I say.
Thats it! lol just read it and hopefully it will work well on you. (maybe try reading it once everyday too)
Visulization:
Well sometimes I procrastinate too and in order to stop it I find visulazation can help a lot. In other words I just figure out what I need to accomplish for the day. Once I know what I need to accomplish then I see myself accomplishing those tasks, eg. I need to go buy groceries, I imagine myself getting up and going to the grocery store, buying what I need and then coming home. It might seem simple but I find it helps me when I am lost with to do with the day. Simply visualizing what you need to do throughout the day (or even major goals that need to be accomplished over long periods) these can really help. You may also want to set a time line for each goal (12:00 I will get food, 12:45 I will go jogging ect.) The key is to follow the shedule like each goal is important and requires attention at that time.
!!!READ THIS!!!
Okay I have a tip which is straight out of the psychology books, for whichever goal you want to accomplish figure out what actions need to be done to do so. eg. To go to the grocery store I will need to stand up, put on my shoes, open the door, ect. Now the idea is to simply preform some of those actions, i.e. If I want to go to the grocery store I should stand up and put my shoes on, even if I am not going to the grocery store for another 15 minutes I am more likely to accomplish the task than if I did not have my shoes on. Taking it further can work better, eg. Put on my shoes, jacket and start up the car. The more commited you become to a goal the more likely you will follow through. This is definatly a good way to accomplish goals, and now il just tell you a little more on using this for long term goals.
Lets say I want to start up a buisness... buut I procrastinate horribly, well this is what you do then. First announce what you intend to do, make sure you tell as many people as you can. Next write out your goal on a piece of paper and sign it, give as detailed of a description and sign every page of your description. Now write out a list of small, easy to accomplish goals. eg. I will spend one hour thinking about my buisness plan, I will write out my buisness plan, I will drive to the bank, I will apply for a buisness loan ect. Now you use the above technique to accomplish each of your individual goals. With each goal you will have a calender of where the goal will take place, again sign this and put it in the most publicly vieable place possible. Before going through with each of your tasks announce to people that you will be doing them.
I have many more methods lol but I hope these will suit you (if not just ask for more lol).
