Verenium in Auro
In wonderment and moonlight
I stared in to her eyes
And all I saw was laughter
Amidst the fiery lies
Her hair was black and windswept
Round her icy marble skin
A wild snake not to be kept
Her lure became my sin
But forsake me gods, ignore me now
For all I can see is she
Melting in to the velvet night around
But elusively here with me
She's swaying to a rhythm that only she can hear
But her madness and her beauty are enough to draw a tear
The angels flew away from her
They left and wept for me
My soul was gone, so cruelly broke
And crushed upon by she
But love was deep inside my heart,
Allurement played me wrong
For her I died a thousand deaths
And drowned inside her song
I waited with a bated breath
For life to flood my veins
Her kiss which I knew could prohibit death
But cost me much in pain
She's swaying to a rhythm that only she can hear
And that evilness inside of her removes all her fear
‘Bibere Verenium in Auro’
‘To drink poison from a chalice of gold’
But that makes me want her more so
For she warms me in biting cold
I live in hope that some day soon
She’ll love me as I do her
But it's waiting for the blood on the moon
And each day takes on more blur
My venomous love will wash her hands
When hence we shall depart
And laugh to herself, and think it grand
That her plaything must be my heart
She's swaying to a rhythm that only she can hear
I’d die to hear that rhythm, so that to her I might be near
