To Live Free

Above all else it is best to live free
This does not mean that unregulated
State of the worldly ones segregated
From humankind and their humanity
Island-dwellers in denial gated
Behind a powerful state protected
From the rest of us claiming elected
Divine right into which can shine no light
While underneath them it is always night

No: to live free is to have dignity
No one who holds this also holds the whip
I would not a slave nor a master be
Both victims of the same dictatorship
Of cruelty beyond simplicity
For to live free is uncomplicated
Let all your chains fall and then you will know
I cannot tell you how it is to grow
No one can tell you: we can only show

That now is the best and the only time
To hear in your heartbeat your freedom chime
