a cow walked the rain grass-
ears twitching-
oblivious to flash and rumble-
no burst in the eye or step-
a cow walked the rain grass-
no yearn for luxury or sun-
a cow walked the rain grass-
into the hills and beyond.

I love this, in its utter simplicity and realism, its observed truth; also, I just happen to love cows--not to be frivolous here--and can moo like one so perfectly that you would think a cow was in the next room. If the poetry thing doesn't work out, I suppose I could do voice work for a cow consortium or something.
The repetition of the line
a cow walked the rain grass
is something very like magical in this poem; indeed, just the phrase "rain grass" is incredibly evocative.
I brought out the purple by fiddling with the tags, hope you don't mind; I saw your intention and think purple is cool for cows too.
I just love this wealth of beautiful poems I wake up and find here from you; what a gift. I sleep really late and get here late, but they are all wonderful.
Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful creations among us here, my friend and fellow poet. Respect and solidarity.
Love,
+Stevie
