On My Birthday

I am thankful for this life given unto me
All its ups and downs along the way
For the privilege of serving through poetry

As I mark yet another birthday

I realize just how fortunate I have been
Grateful I had the good sense to stay
So as not to miss all the wonders I have seen

Nor would I go back and change it because
It was supposed to be the way it was

Dear Steven,

Happy Birthday & Happy New Year! May you have plenty more joy and happiness in 2006.
It is my Mother's birthday tomorrow - she will be 59. She came home from hospital on 23rd December and I'm so overjoyed that she is alive - though not necessarily well - to see this one.
