I have tried to seek my heart
Words combined and recombined
I have sought to speak through art
Emotions defined refined

I have struggled toward a start
Of a journey with no end
Knowing that I am going
With only one span to spend

Going yet not knowing where
Showing as I am growing
Hoping to share with a friend
Words which fly away like birds

These pieces of me you see
Blow away like leaves in fall
When we get there we will share
Shattered heart-shards after all

Having learned at last to fly
We will know when we get there
Cross the rainbow through the sky
Taught to care and not to care

What it means to live and die
When we get there you and I
