On a family reunion..On forgiveness

Gentle snowfalls surrogate frozen rains
Of hatred, novel buds breaking slumber
Hazy dark gives way to young twinkles
Of hope, warmth of fervor melting hails

Inevitable union among alienated twigs
Of family tree, seasoned for days ahead
Elderly lenience forgives transgressions
Of adolescents, naïve shadows receding

Pages gone abound with words misread
Of delusions, let faith regain spaces lost
In harmony be traversed startling roads
Of life, tears spent not on inane disputes

Strings apart find accord in melodic airs
Of celestial sonata, a sound affair saved
Smiles trounce glances exchanged often
Of mistrust, springs rush in lovely mask

Peace be attained even in turbulent times
Of His trials, selfless prayers steer minds
Seek asylum amidst transparent relations
Of love, bring forth heavens on His earth

Gentle snowfalls surrogate frozen rains, of hatred
Patient buds welcome benevolent waves, of hope

Franziska's right, my friend and fellow poet; this is great stuff, so keenly observed and insightfully described. The words are beautiful, and they also ring true.

Like the lady said, "wonderful poem."

Thanks for sharing this, at this most timely time. Respect and solidarity.

...And love, always,
