Hole

In my chest,
There is a hole,
It’s beneath my skin,
Beneath my muscle,
Beneath my bone,
It’s open and bleeding,
And I can’t stop the flow,
It can’t be sewn up,
It has to stay,
It has to remind,
This is why I don’t fall in love,
This emptiness,
This sorrow,
This darkness that has enchanted me,
This enemy that won’t let me go,
I was strong once,
But no more,
Now I am weak,
I am foolish,
I am lost.
